Store Committee Guidelines

  1. The Store Committee is a voluntary position to support the store to improve its service to the community and control the Community Dividends.
  2. The Committee can only approve dividend payments for projects or activities that will benefit the community.
  3. The Committee cannot approve dividend funds for the benefit of one (1) person or one (1) family.
  4. Payments for approved projects or activities within the guidelines will be made by ALPA or goods will be supplied from the store. No cash will be given.
  5. Dividends funds approved for ceremonies must be for ceremonies in the Community.
  6. There is to be no advance from dividend funds.
  7. There is to be no loans of any type from the dividend funds.
  8. All signatures of Committee Members or their proxies are needed to approve funding.
  9. The General Manager and Group Accountant are not to pay any dividend funds unless they comply with these guidelines.
  10. Approved projects/ceremonies for the dividend fund are:
    * Funerals
    * Ceremonies
    * Education Assistance
    * Community Projects
    * Activities or events
  11. The Committee will treat all funding requests fairly and on equal terms. Similar funding requests from different clans will be treated the same and if approved will receive equal funding.
  12. Only the recognised Store Committee or their proxies can process and authorize funding requests.
  13. Committee Members must not request or participate in funding requests for personal benefit.
