In June 2021, ALPA featured in the online webinar series HEALTHY STORiES = GOOD FOOD. This 4-part series showcased ‘good food store’ stories from around remote Australia that have enabled better health in communities while retaining viable store businesses.

Each webinar focused on different topics ranging from healthy takeaways, employment opportunities, local food economies, food affordability and pricing for healthy food, and the 4P's of marketing for healthy food.  Following the video presentation, participants were invited to ask panel members questions.

We shared a story of ALPA’s partnership with Karen’s Kitchen to provide healthy meal options to our customers, through the Karen’s Kitchen Ready-Made Meals range. This range is full of vegetables, lean meats and preserved by traditional ingredients such as the Kakadu Plum. ALPA proudly partners with Karen Sheldon Catering that focuses on providing employment and training opportunities for Indigenous Territorians.

We congratulate Monash University for leading this inaugural event. We were proud to be part of the working group that supported the development. It was a great opportunity to celebrate the successful initiatives that are being led by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people, and together discuss ways forward to address food security.
