Eve has made the move from Darwin where she previously work in the HR Department for our parent Corporation, The Arnhem Land Progress Aboriginal Corporation (ALPA). Eve brings a breadth of retail experience and knowledge to the position having previously worked as a Store Manager and Operations Manager in the NT across several Arnhem Land communities since 2007. Eve says she was excited when the position became available. "I missed working in retail and the opportunities to travel, I decided the timing was right to move back into retail. After living in the NT for 12 years, I felt it was time for a change and the opportunity to move to Cairns felt both exciting and challenging. I knew I definitely wanted to stay in a warm climate". Eve has been enjoying visiting and getting to know our Queensland communities and is looking at furthering her managements skills. "I wish to grow my skills as a leader in order to improve the performance of my team. I seek to grow my leadership and management capacity, leveraging my experience in both retail and with ALPA. I would like to be successful in a fast paced environment and improve efficiencies for my team as well as initiate improvements in the customer experience". Outside of Eve's business work schedule she is enjoying what Far North Queensland lifestyle. "I like to try and keep fit with a run on the esplanade or a gym visit. I enjoy good food and so often I will be trying out the latest restaurant or newest menu around town. I also like to spend time with friends and family". The Island & Cape team are excited to have Eve in the Office and are confident she will tackle her new role with much enthusiasm.
