Who We Are

Rulku Enterprises is a locally run business on Milingimbi in East Arnhem Land, that provides 21 room lodge accommodation and labour-hire services in the community. Rulku Lodge is the only commercial accommodation on Milingimbi and provides a nice home away from home accommodation, with comfortable rooms and a full set of facilities.

Our Vision

Rulku means 'family' in Yolngu Matha from the Milingimbi community in East Arnhem Land. Rulku Enterprises was established in 2013 after Milingimbi Traditional Owner David Marapiwuy saw a need to create an accommodation lodge for visiting service providers, contractors, and tourists. With the assistance of ALPA, Rulku Enterprises has expanded the lodge's facilities and services. Rulku Enterprises' vision is to create employment opportunities for local Yolngu people and create a financially viable business for future generations.

Our History

The Inaugural meeting of Rulku Enterprises Pty Ltd took place on the 30th September 2013, present were; David Djalangi, Keith Lapulung, and Micky Wunungmurra, with 100% ownership with ALPA, the Rulku Family Trust following the establishment of Rulku Enterprises purchased 10% worth of shares and increased this to 20% ownership by 2018.

Governance

Rulku Enterprises is a business partnership between the Rulku Family Trust and ALPA. This business is governed by an elected Board of Directors who have a strong connection to the Milingimbi community with each Director providing valuable business direction and strategic input.
