ALPA has two new Indigenous team members who have recently started their specialised traineeships through Group Training Northern Territory (GTNT).

Homere Wosomo (pictured below) is ALPA new Media Cadet and will start her Certificate III in Screen and Media through Charles Darwin University.

Ruby Jones-Hayes also started her traineeship last month with the Corporate Services team and will start her studies in Finance shortly too.

ALPA's Board of Directors has approved these traineeships under the ALPA Education Fund and both traineeships will last for two years.

Both Homere and Ruby grew up in Darwin. Ruby was born here and Homere was born on Thursday Island.

Homere is 22 years and says she is loving her new job and finding it challenging but enjoying it.

" I am enjoying learning about the people who work for ALPA both in Darwin and in communities".

Meanwhile, 26-year-old Ruby says she applied for this job to go down a different career path and this job is a great opportunity for her.

“Everyone is really friendly".
