Chairperson

“ALPA is Yolŋu talking together; everyone understands the others’ views and we reach consensus decisions because we understand each other.”

Chairperson Fay Matjarra Garrawurra serves as ALPA’s community representative for Ramingining and has been a dedicated member of the ALPA Board since 2014, appointed by the store committee.

Matjarra shares, “On the ALPA Board, we have a voice. We can now see how ALPA is actively supporting Yolŋu workers in our communities through both employment and training. I am very proud to see our people entering the workforce through opportunities provided by ALPA.”

Matjarra is also the only female Pastor in Ramingining for the Uniting and Aboriginal Christian Congress.
