Margaret (Dhamany 2) Marrkula is a traditional owner Director representative for the Gapuwiyak community. Elected in late 2023 to the ALPA Board, Ms Marrkula sits on the Milindji Aboriginal Corporation Board (family corporation) as a Director and assists as a communications facilitator. She is an elected member of the Northern Land Council and currently works with ALPA's East Arnhem Youth Model as a community coordinator.

She's proud to be elected to the ALPA Board of Directors and says she wants to focus on making strategic business decisions that benefit the communities of Arnhem Land.

"I feel happy to represent Gapuwiyak and learn more in this role. I want to be a role model for the younger generation and speak up about issues that are affecting our community. I want our younger ones to get on the right path and focus on their education and futures. This is a way I can give back to my community."

"I am next in line to speak for my father Clancy Marrkula (Senior Traditional Owner). I want to help parents get their kids to school. I am here to speak up for our land, water and people."
