The Remote School Attendance Strategy is about school attendance officers working with schools, families, parents, and community organisations to ensure all children go to school every day. The Remote School Attendance Strategy started in 2014 as an initiative of the Australian Government.

ALPA operates the RSAS program on the communities of Galiwin'ku, Milingimbi, Ramingining, Gapuwiyak and Yirrkala and is one of the highest performing service providers based on improvements in school attendance figures. Our grass-roots community-based approach works closely with families, schools, and other organisations in the community to deliver a service that is sensitive to the needs of the local community and provides employment to local indigenous people.
