The Arnhem Land Progress Aboriginal Corporation (ALPA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Catherine Fairlie as the new General Manager of Community Services.

Catherine joins us from another non-profit First Nations Organisation in the Pilbara, where she has been fully engaged in community services. Her passion for making meaningful impacts within Aboriginal communities aligns perfectly with ALPA’s mission. With a diverse background spanning community services, Aboriginal corporations, social enterprises, and commercial businesses, Catherine brings a wealth of experience to ALPA.

"In her previous role, as a GM overseeing some 400 staff, she demonstrated her ability to collaborate with diverse teams to streamline operations and increase surplus, directly contributing to better outcomes through reinvestment in community programs," said Alastair King, CEO of Arnhem Land Progress Aboriginal Corporation.

Ms Fairlie says she was attracted to the role because of ALPA’s commitment to enhancing the well-being and resilience of communities through inclusive practices.

“I am inspired by the organisation’s dedication through growth over the years to provide comprehensive services that address the multifaceted needs of individuals and families. I enjoy learning each community’s culture, hearing family stories, and working with families on self-determination and wellbeing.”

“Whilst I know ALPA has outstanding services already, I am looking to enhance access to vital services, also expanding access to social support and developing innovative programs, partnerships and outreach initiatives.”

Ms Fairlie says she also believes in the power of strengthening community-driven initiatives to drive change.

“I intend to foster stronger relationships with community members, local organisations and stakeholders to ensure our services are responsive to the unique needs and aspirations of each community we serve.”
