Emerging Leader representing Gapuwiyak

Dion Wunungmurra joined the ALPA Board as an Emerging Leader in 2024, bringing with him strong experience in health and community development. Dion is a proud father of three children from Gapuwiyak and is excited about his future impact with ALPA. 

After completing Years 10, 11, and 12 at St Joseph’s College in Geelong, Dion returned to Gapuwiyak to work as a training and health practitioner at the community health centre. Following this, he spent three years with ALPA’s Community Development Program (CDP) as an Employment Consultant, supporting community members with appointments, identification requirements, and applying for local job opportunities. 

Dion is eager to listen, share, and learn from the Board of Directors. He says he knows how important it is to have young people on the Board to absorb knowledge from experienced leaders. Dion is also passionate about contributing to strategic conversations that drive action and deliver real outcomes for communities.
